Berthoud is well connected to the rest of Northern Colorado via Interstate 25 and Highway 287, which runs through the west side of town and connects Berthoud to Denver and several Front Range communities. FLEX is a regional bus service connecting Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud, Longmont and Boulder.

Additionally, the Berthoud Area Transportation Service (BATS) offers a reliable demand-response transportation service that allows residents to schedule a ride for the next day. Without a fixed route, the service coordinates trips to accommodate people going to the same general area.
